Narivetta, the Malayalam-language action drama, is slated to be released in theatres this Friday (May 23rd). Coming with the caption ‘Thodelu Veta’, the Tovino Thomas-starring movie is going to be released in Telugu by Mythri Movie Distributors.
Anuraj Manohar is wielding the megaphone. Written by Abin Joseph, the film is based on the Muthanga Incident that happened in 2023. Suraj Venjaramoodu (as a head constable) and Cheran are playing crucial roles. The film’s songs and original score were composed by Jakes Bejoy.

What is the Muthanga incident on which Narivetta is based? It concerns the explosive police firing incident upon Adivasi protestors in Kerala’s Wayanad district. The Adivasis were protesting the Kerala Government’s failure to allocate land as promised in October 2001. Police fired 18 rounds, initially killing two people (including one officer).
Tovino Thomas was most recently seen in L2: Empuraan (as Jathin Ramdas). Last year, his ambitious Ajayante Randam Moshanam was released. 2018, released in 2023, was a major blockbuster in his career.
