Tamil actor Pradeep Ranganathan became an overnight sensation in Kollywood after Love Today became a blockbuster in 2022. It was made on a small budget. He not only headlined the rom-com but was also its director. The two-film-old maker-actor awaits the release of Dragon this Friday (February 21).
The news is that Mythri Movie Makers has teamed up with Pradeep for a Tamil movie. It will be released in Telugu simultaneously. Producer Y Ravi Shankar revealed about the project while speaking at the pre-release event of Dragon in Hyderabad on Sunday. “Pradeep liked the story of the movie so much that he has gifted a car to the director. He didn’t want to see the director use a two-wheeler to commute,” Ravi Shankar said.
Mythri Movie Makers was among the first Tollywood production houses to see potential in Pradeep. “After Love Today got released, we approached him and tried to remake the movie in Hindi. It couldn’t materialize. We are glad we are finally doing a film with him,” Ravi Shankar said.
Pradeep made his debut with the Tamil movie Comali (2019). He has produced Love Today’s remake, Loveyapa, in Hindi, in collaboration with others. Love Insurance Kompany is among his other upcoming movies.
