Mega Prince Varun Tej’s much-awaited Pan-India debut Matka is rapidly nearing completion, with the final phase of filming currently underway at Ramoji Film City (RFC), Hyderabad. As key scenes are being shot in this schedule, the film’s production is set to wrap up soon. Directed by Karuna Kumar and produced by Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala and Rajani Thalluri under the Vyra Entertainments and SRT Entertainment banners, Matka is the biggest and most prestigious project in Varun Tej’s career. With a substantial budget and grand vision, the film is a high-profile undertaking for the actor.
Set against a period backdrop, the film’s story spans over two decades, from 1958 to 1982. Varun Tej portrays a character whose journey unfolds over several years, with multiple looks and transformations to reflect his aging from youth to old age. The recently released poster showcases Tej in an elderly avatar, lost in deep thought, hinting at his character’s depth and complexity.
Meanwhile, post-production is also progressing smoothly, and the filmmakers have promised a series of exciting updates shortly, keeping the anticipation alive.
The movie also features Meenakshi Chaudhary and Nora Fatehi as the leading ladies. With music composed by GV Prakash Kumar and cinematography by A. Kishore Kumar, Matka is shaping up to be a visual and musical treat. Karthika Srinivas R. handles the editing, ensuring a polished final product.
