“I have always wanted to do a mass film after Gaddalakonda Ganesh. I thank director Karuna Kumar for making Matka with me,” Varun Tej said, speaking at the pre-release event of Matka on Sunday. The event was held in Vizag. The actor’s wife, Lavanya Tripathi, was also present.
The hero said that Matka will be a smash hit. “Dhummu dhuluputundi,” he said about the November 14th release.
The actor spoke of Global Star Ram Charan’s emotional support for him. “No matter how well your movie shapes up, you are tense ahead of the theatrical release. When I was tense last night, a phone call from Charan anna soothed me. He is always there for me no matter what,” the Operation Valentine actor said.
The highlight of his speech came when he declared that he would continue to honor the names of Megastar Chiranjeevi and Power Star Pawan Kalyan. “You must never forget your roots. Without that, your success loses its true meaning,” Varun Tej said.
The first fifteen minutes of the movie will narrate the childhood episodes of Vasu. Master Karthikeya has played the child role. Naveen Chandra has a prominent role. “We might have missed the target with Ghani. This time, we won’t,” Varun Tej said.
Director Karuna Kumar remarked that while directors and producers may have let Varun Tej down at times, the actor has never failed his films.
