Why do celebrities have a personal security detail? Why do they employ bouncers, who primarily focus on crowd control and maintaining order within a specific venue? Do they want to act elitist?
Manchu Vishnu, in a recent chit-chat with veteran filmmaker Tammareddy Bharadwaj, threw light on the topic. He stated that film celebs need to employ bouncers. “When celebrities make themselves approachable, public nuisance is what it results in. Every time we are out, we are mobbed. Common folks, who watch us on their TV sets, feel that we are like their family members. If there is a personal security guard around, they would not feel that free to approach us for an autograph. Thereby, we can protect our privacy,” Vishnu said.
Vishnu’s Kannappa is scheduled to be released in theatres on June 27th.
