“From Rameswaram to Rashtrapati Bhavan, the journey of a legend begins… India’s Missile Man is coming to the silver screen. Dream big. Rise higher,” the makers of Kalam: The Missile Man Of India wrote, announcing a biopic of late APJ Abdul Kalam.
Director Om Raut, who has previously directed Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and Prabhas’ Adipurush, is wielding the megaphone. For the filmmaker, it is an interesting move from a Ramayana-based movie to the story of a modern icon. Neerja and Maidaan fame Saiwyn Quadras is the screenplay writer.

Three banners have come together for the project: Abhishek Agarwal Arts, AK Entertainments, and T-Series. Producers Abhishek Agarwal, Anil Sunkara, and the Bhushan Kumar-Krishan Kumar are yet to announce the release date.
Anil Sunkara set out to produce a biopic of Kalam eight years ago. “It took us eight rotations around the sun to make the dream a reality. Of course, Kalam ji always said, “Dream big and work hard to realize your dream.” Mr. Kalam’s story, which itself is a dream come true, has many incidents that people don’t know of. They will inspire the next generations to their core. It’s not just a normal biopic; it will be an epic with perfect drama, action, humor, and emotion,” Anil Sunkara wrote.
