If Mahesh Babu is known as the Superstar of Tollywood today, then one of the sole reasons is the 2003 blockbuster film, Okkadu. Directed by Gunasekhar, Okkadu broke numerous records at the box office and gave the Telugu audience one of the best films to cherish forever.
The producer of Okkadu, M.S. Raju recently dropped hints about a sequel, which got fans all excited. When a fan asked the producer, “@MSRajuOfficial Mahesh Babu Tho Double Mass Movie Yenaa Sir … Okkadu Movie Ni MinchiUndali Reply Sir Please???????? (sic.)” (Your movie with Mahesh Babu should be a bigger hit than Okkadu), he replied that he’ll make an announcement next month and said, “Undali. Untundhi (sic.)” (It definitely will be.) He even added that Okkadu 2 should only be directed by Gunasekhar. Okkadu remains a favourite for many movie buffs. Going by M.S. Raju’s posts it looks like he is open to the idea should a good script be written for the same.

Okkadu (2003) was written and directed by Gunasekhar. The movie casts Mahesh Babu, Bhoomika Chawla in lead roles and Prakash Raj played the role of the antagonist. Okkadu has received eight Nandi Awards and over four Filmfare Awards South, including Best Film Telugu.
