Mark your calendars, fans! The timeless classic Athadu is set for a grand re-release in IMAX, 4K, and Dolby Audio on August 9th. This special event coincides perfectly with the countdown to Superstar Mahesh Babu’s birthday, which falls exactly 100 days from today.
Athadu was originally released in 2005. The action thriller film, written and directed by Trivikram Srinivas and produced by Jayabheri Arts, co-starred Trisha, Sonu Sood (as the antagonist), Prakash Raj (as an IPS officer), Nassar, Sunil, Sayaji Shinde, Kota Srinivasa Rao and Brahmanandam. The comedy track involving the female lead, Brahmi and Mahesh Babu was a thorough hit with the family viewer.
Mani Sharma‘s compositions became chartbusters. Neetho Cheppana, Pilichinaa Raanantaava, Avunu Nijam, and Pillagali Allari were enjoyed by the audience. Adaraku, the hero-centric song written and rendered by Viswa, was whistle-worthy.
This movie was Trivikram’s first collaboration with Mahesh Babu. The second one was Khaleja, which was released in 2010. Their third movie together, Guntur Kaaram, was released for Sankranthi 2024.
