Karthikeya was a Telugu thriller movie which starred Nikhil Sidharth as the lead actor. The movie was released in 2014 and was received positively by the audience and critics alike. The plot was about a medical student, Karthikeya, who visits Subramanyapuram for a medical camp. However, when he learns about the mysterious deaths surrounding the local temple of Kumara Swami, he decides to investigate.
When a sequel to Karthikeya was announced, fans of Nithin Sidharth were excited and were curious to see what kind of plot the filmmakers would come up with the second time. People Media Factory, the production house bankrolling Karthikeya 2, recently put a tweet with a video about the concept for this movie.

From the concept video it can be gleaned Karthikeya 2 would see Nikhil Sidharth try to protect a mystery as old as 5000 years, from a greedy don. The story would connect the mystery set 5000 years ago to the present day where Karthikeya will protect the ancient secret.
Karthikeya 2 will be produced by T.G. Vishwa Prasad and Abhishek Agarwal under their banners of People Media Factory and Abhishek Agarwal Arts respectively. The music will be scored by Kaala Bhairava and cinematography will be handled by Karthik Ghattamaneni. Chandoo Mondeti will be directing Karthikeya 2.
