The coming of age love story, Hridayam has won the hearts of the Malayalam film lovers recently. Besides being a romantic classic, the film also got good collections. The film got the attention of not only Malayalam audiences, but also the film lovers from other languages too. Making a note of this, the ace producer of Bollywood, Karan Johar stepped forward to bag the remake rights of the film recently.
Karan Johar is going to pick up the megaphone and direct the recent Malayalam hit Hridayam. He bagged the remake rights of the film recently in the languages of Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. Both Dharma Productions and Fox Star Studios together acquired the rights of the film. Karan Johan mentioned about the same on his Twitter handle writing, “I am so delighted and honoured to share this news. Acquired the rights of Hridayam, all the way from the south, the world of Malayalam Cinema”.

Karan Johar also extended his gratitude to Visakh Subramaniam and Merryland Cinemas for handing the remake rights to him. Karan is currently directing the film titled Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani starring Ranveer Sigh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. Also, he is parallely producing the film Brahmastra featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt as Shiva and Isha.
