“This is not my film. This is Kannappa’s film,” actor Manchu Vishnu said, speaking at the pre-release event of his upcoming movie today. He invoked Lord Shiva’s Will and Grace on the occasion. The devotional action drama will hit the screens on June 27th.
In his speech, Vishnu thanked the entire cast and crew. He also mentioned his friend and artist Shiva Balaji, writer Paruchuri Gopalakrishna, music director Stephen Devassy, Brahmanandam, lyricist Ramajogayya Sastry, choreographer Prabhu Dheva (who has choreographed three songs), and others. “If the movie is releasing on a good scale in Tamil, it is because of Sarathkumar garu’s support,” Vishnu said.
“Our director Mukesh is very soft-spoken. I thank him for all the hard work he has put in. This was not an easy project to handle. Recently, (Kannada superstar) Shiva Rajkumar garu asked me what made me do Kannappa. I told him it was ‘Shiveccha’. A film based on the life of Kannappa wasn’t made in the past five decades,” Vishnu added.
He praised actor Prabhas, who has a special role in the movie. “He has acted in Kannappa only for my father. I can’t thank him enough. I love him for his kindness. He is one of the biggest stars in the world today. Our equations have remained the same over the years. He is a Krishna in my life. My dad is my God. He is bigger than God to me,” Vishnu said in his emotional speech. Prabhas’ character will make an entry fifteen minutes into the interval.
Mythri Movie Distributors‘ Sashi said that Adipurush was their first movie as distributors in Nizam territory. It was followed by HanuMan. And now, they are distributing Kannappa, another divine movie. “Kannappa will show us the power of Shiva’s miracles. The audio album has received a great response. The trailer has changed the image of the film. This is meant to be seen on the big screen. Nobody has made a film of this kind in the last 2-3 decades,” Sashi said.
Director Mukesh Kumar Singh said that Dr. Mohan Babu had the guts to repose faith in him despite the fact that he is a non-Telugu filmmaker. “You are going to witness the depth of Vishnu’s acting talent in a few days from,” the director said.
