Thanking cinema lovers and audience, Studio Green today said that Kanguva grossed nearly Rs 59 Cr at the worldwide box office on day one (Thursday). The Suriya-headlined film is directed by Siva.
“Like a wild storm in the box offices worldwide. Lauded by all, our #Kanguva collects over 58.62 Cr. Thank you to all the Anbaana Fans, Cinema Lovers and Audiences who made this happen,” the makers wrote on social media.
The film was released on a non-holiday day. Looked in the light of that fact, the stated figure is even more astonishing. Event films and visual spectacles enjoy great traction in today’s times. Kanguva, starring Suriya in a dual role (that of a wildly rage-filled warrior and a flamboyant bounty hunter), has proved this fact yet again.

The film’s music has been done by Devi Sri Prasad. The VFX, especially on 3D screens, has been amplified. “The kids out there are loving the 3D version,” producer KE Gnanavel Raja said.
Kanguva 2 will go on the floors in 2026. The sequel will be made on a bigger scale.
