Shefali Jariwala of Kaanta Laga fame is no more. The actress-model was catapulted to fame by the remix music video Kaanta Laga in 2002. At that time, it was an urban sensation of sorts. Sweet Honey Mix and Kabhi Aar Kabhi Paar Remix followed.
The music industry is shocked to learn that the talented model passed away at the age of 42 on Friday in Mumbai. “Initial reports suggest the cause of death was cardiac arrest, though the exact cause is pending an official statement and post-mortem results,” a report says.
“Shefali Jariwala passed away after reportedly suffering from a cardiac arrest. Her husband Parag Tyagi looked absolutely heartbroken and devastated as he exited the hospital premises,” a report by Filmfare stated.
Shefali famously made a cameo appearance in the Bollywood film Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004). She was a contestant on reality shows like Nach Baliye (seasons 5 and 7 with her husband Parag Tyagi), Boogie Woogie, and was a fan-favorite contestant on Bigg Boss 13. She also appeared in the 2018 web series Baby Come Naa and the 2024 TV show Shaitani Rasmein.
Her first marriage was to musician Harmeet Singh from Meet Brothers in 2004. The couple got divorced five years later.
