In January of this year, Nandamuri Balakrishna said that his second innings as an actor is going to be a blast. As he turns a year older today (June 10th), it would be interesting to look back at his words.
“In 1986, seven movies starring me were released. Six of them were silver jubilee hits, while the other one was a hit. My second innings is going to be a blast. Usually, second innings happens after a fall or a sabbatical. In my case, it is different,” Balakrishna said.
The journey towards the new innings has been on for the past few years. It all began with Boyapati Sreenu’s Akhanda in the post-pandemic era, he suggested. After that blockbuster, he delivered hits in the form of Veera Simha Reddy, Bhagavanth Kesari and Daaku Maharaaj.
The teaser of Akhanda 2 has been a roaring success. The fans of the first edition can’t wait enough to watch the sequel on the big screen. It would be no exaggeration to state that Akhanda 2 is the biggest event movie in Balayya’s career. Balakrishna has also teamed up with Gopichand Malineni for his 111th movie (NBK111).
