Many great devotees are known to have started out as extraordinary atheists. Bhakta Kannappa, who was born as Thinnadu, was one such. The trailer of Manchu Vishnu’s grand spectacle, Kannappa, takes off introducing this less-known side of its titular character’s profound persona.
The trailer offers non-stop highs, especially with the arrival of Prabhas’ Rudra. The exchanges between the film’s protagonist and the pan-Indian actor seem to be meaty and substantial. Prabhas has an important role as someone who is instrumental in Thinnadu’s mystical transformation through self-discovery.
Mohanlal’s character is deployed to talk about Kannappa’s Mahabharatham link; there exists a tradition that says he was a reincarnation of Arjuna.
Akshay Kumar plays Lord Shiva, someone who knows what Thinnadu’s destiny is. Preity Mukundhan plays the titular character’s love interest. Mohan Babu plays a locally prominent sadhu who believes there doesn’t exist a bigger Shiva devotee than him.
A tale close to my heart, filled with faith and fervor. Kannappa trailer Out Now.
