SS Rajamouli attended the pre-release event of Kanguva in Hyderabad as the chief guest. On the occasion, the Eega maker praised the film as well as its hero, Suriya.
Speaking on the occasion, the celebrated filmmaker said that it’s not easy to make a big-scale movie like Kanguva on an erected set in an exotic location. “Looking at the making video, I can understand how hard it must have been to pull that off. I am sure your efforts will pay off,” the RRR maker said.
The Magadheera director said that a film like Kanguva must be watched only on the big screen. He lauded director Siruthai Siva on the occasion.
Rajamouli said that one of the inspirations who drove him to transcend regional boundaries was Suriya. “He is one of the main reasons why I wanted to go beyond the Telugu States. I remember how Suriya used to promote Ghajini in Telugu. It’s a case study how he endeared himself to our audience,” the Baahubali maker said, adding that he loves Suriya’s screen presence and acting prowess.
Suriya revealed that producer KE Gnanavelraja is such a big fan of Rajamouli that he uses the director’s photo as his phone’s wallpaper.
Kanguva, starring Bobby Deol as the antagonist, will hit the screens on November 14th. Studio Green and UV Creations have bankrolled the epic fantasy action film.
