Aishwarya Rajesh says that Sankranthiki Vasthunam has made her more popular than before. Thanks to the enormous popularity of Godari Gattu (the Ramana Gogula-crooned song), she has been recognized everywhere.
“These days, when I am at an airport, people flock to me to get selfies clicked. The reach of Godari Gattu has made it possible,” the actress, known for World Famous Lover and Tuck Jagadish, says.
Aishwarya was surprised when she received a call from Anil Ravipudi’s office. “I was filming for a web series when Sankranthiki Vasthunam came my way. Having watched all of the director’s previous movies, I was pleasantly surprised. A look test was done. I speak in a specific dialect in the movie. Getting to act alongside a big star like Venkatesh garu is a privilege. This film also offered me the opportunity to shine in a duet, a first for me in Telugu,” Aishwarya says.
“My character, Bhagyam, in the film is not an easy one. My performance had to do the tightrope walk. Had I overdone anywhere, the whole balance would have collapsed,” Aishwarya ponders, adding that Bhagyam is the kind of female character the Telugu audience haven’t come across in years.
The actress profusely thanks producers Dil Raju and Shirish for the opportunity. Co-starring Meenakshi Chaudhary, Sankranthiki Vasthunam has music by Bheems Ceciroleo.
