Actor Dulquer Salmaan feels that Rangasthalam is underrated. While the film was a blockbuster when it was released in 2018, the Malayalam actor feels that it deserved more love.
In a recent interview, DQ said that he happened to rewatch the movie recently. Calling it a “revisit”, the Mahanati actor said that the performances in it were “fabulous”. He added that the film’s plotting was unpredictable. “It was ahead of its times,” DQ said.
The Sita Ramam and Lucky Baskhar actor also stated that Rangasthalam would have done much better had it been released in today’s times. “It would have gained much greater attention,” DQ opined.
DQ comes from an industry which is reputed for delivering rooted stories with slice-of-life aesthetics. Such a person getting bowled over by Rangasthalam says it all. The Sukumar-directed movie, starring Global Star Ram Charan in a memorable role, remains one of the biggest classics from Telugu cinema.
The action drama was produced by Mythri Movie Makers. Samantha, Aadhi Pinisetty, Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, Anasuya Bharadwaj, and VK Naresh played key roles in it. Every single song from the movie was profoundly conceived and composed. Yentha Sakkagunnave, the title track, Rangamma Mangamma, and Aa Gattununtava were thoroughly enjoyable.
