The Dil Raju Dreams website was launched by chief guests Vijay Deverakonda and Devi Sri Prasad at an event on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, leading producer Dil Raju explained why he had conceived the new forum.
“Thanks to the contributions of several directors, Sri Venkateswara Creations has been able to deliver numerous hits. So far, we have produced 57 movies. Since 2014, there has developed a gulf between SVC and new filmmakers. Which is why Harshith and Hanshitha formed DilRaju Productions a couple of years ago. The duo are planning to expand their horizons. Dil Raju Dreams seeks to guide aspiring artists and technicians. Dil Raju Dreams will be manned by a whole new young team. This is a joint effort by me and Shirish. We have formed a young team that has been empowered to shortlist candidates,” Dil Raju said.

“About 2,000 individuals have turned up for today’s event. Over the past few days, we have received about 10,000 entries. You guys trust our brand. I would like to tell you all that it’s not easy to find a foothold in the film industry. About 98% of aspiring directors don’t ever get to wield the megaphone. Of the remaining 2%, half of them never get to make a successful movie. If you end up being a failure, your family shouldn’t suffer. Before I and Shirish cemented our position in the industry, we used to make investments in other businesses as a Plan B. Only after we proved ourselves in the film industry did we completely shift. Cinema is an attraction. Don’t quit your jobs until you make a mark in the industry,” Dil Raju said.
“If you want to succeed in the industry, you have to be extremely passionate. If you want to become a producer, be very careful. You will be taken for a ride by others. You start out thinking the budget of your movie will be Rs 2 Cr. You will end up investing double that amount by the end of your film’s journey. You will be forced to pledge your properties in a desperate situation,” Dil Raju cautioned.
Dil Raju urged aspirants to always be circumspect and driven. “As many as 2 lakh individuals are expected to want to use our new banner as a platform in the coming years,” he said.
