Ravindra Benerjee Muppaneni has previously produced Colour Photo, Bedurulanka 2012 and Thellavarithe Guruvaram. On Wednesday, his banner Loukya Entertainments launched a new movie. Titled Dhandoraa, the film is touted to be a “compelling village drama rooted in Telangana’s rich traditions”. Starring Sivaji, Navdeep, Rahul Ramakrishna, Ravikrishna, Manika Chikkala and Anusha, the film will have a satirical flavour.
Looks like a caste-oriented narrative is at the core of the film’s story. “If caste is tied to profession, why doesn’t it change when the profession does?” the announcement poster asks. The poster shows a forlorn rural dwelling on whose premises a funereal ritual is on.
చేసే పనినిబట్టే కులం అన్నప్పుడు, పని మారితే కులం కూడా మారాలి కదా…?
