Devi Sri Prasad started to be the most-valued music director for love stories, sometime in the early 2000s. From Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana to Arya, from Varsham to 100% Love, DSP’s songs were chartbusters movie after movie. In his latest interview, he has spoken about the success of the songs from Thandel.
“After listening to Bujji Thalli, Sukumar garu predicted that it will go down as one of the top five hits of all time. The Shiva song and Hilesso Hilessa have also been crowd favourites,” DSP said, suggesting that doing the film has been as unique an experience as was doing Rangasthalam and Uppena.
Devi feels blessed to be considered as the top choice for love stories. “Love stories can be evergreen. Hit songs in rom-coms will always be remembered by the audience,” the Rock Star, who recently composed songs for Pushpa 2: The Rule, observed. All songs and the background score in Thandel are going to work their charm, he suggests.
He says that director Chandoo Mondeti’s vision and imagination are awesome. He praises Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi for putting in their best in terms of performances.
Devi quips that since he started composing songs at a young age, he has grown up listening to his own music. Kubera, directed by Sekhar Kammula, is among his upcoming releases. Thandel hits the screens on February 7th.
