Producer S Naga Vamsi has something catchy to say about the place of Daaku Maharaaj in Nandamuri Balakrishna’s decades-long filmography. “It will be regarded as a library film in his career,” Naga Vamsi, a fan of Balayya, says.
The film has been made without a reference point as such. “A landmark Balakrishna film, it will become a reference point for others,” the makers imply. The film’s pre-release event will be held in Anantapur on January 9.
Director Bobby Kolli chips in. He praises five action blocks in the movie as outstanding. The most crucial action sequences are going to involve Daaku. What is the character’s screentime in the movie? “It doesn’t matter how long Daaku will be on the screen. What matters is that his presence will be felt even when he is absent. The second half is going to see his entry,” Bobby says, suggesting that the domineering aura of Daaku will be compelling.
The film’s Trailer not featuring Balayya’s punchy lines was a conscious decision. The director-producer duo wanted to avoid such features that are typically associated with the trailers/teasers of the Akhanda actor.
Daaku Maharaaj also features Shraddha Srinath and Pragya Jaiswal. The trailer was cut in such a fashion that the audience don’t get to know anything about the plot. That’s probably because the plot is secondary and the heroism is primary for a mass action drama like this.
The makers justify Dabidi Dibidi, saying that the song continues to get millions of views. At the time of writing, it is super-successful, having amassed more than 14 million views.
The film has music by SS Thaman. It hits the screens on January 12.
