The whirlwind shoot for Thalaiva Rajinikanth’s Coolie has officially come to a rocking end. The entire crew is probably letting out a collective “Whew!” right about now. The movie went on the floors in July 2024. The production journey was concluded this Monday, much ahead of the pan-Indian movie’s theatrical release.
Word on the street is that this flick is gonna be something else entirely. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has always been known to complete movie shoots pretty fast. After Leo and Vikram, Coolie is the only film that took him more than 100 days to shoot.

The first song from Coolie was released in December 2024. Chikitu Vibe, the Anirudh Ravichander composition, is like a fan service. Rajinikanth dances in a garage-like setting with a hundred junior artists joining him. Akkineni Nagarjuna is playing a pivotal role. Coolie is produced by Sun Pictures. The movie’s cinematography is handled by Girish Gangadharan and editing is being done by Philomin Raj. Coolie also features Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Shruti Haasan and Mahendran. Pooja Hegde will be seen in a special song.
