If you are planning to watch Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar on the IMAX screen all over again, this news is for you. Its Indian IMAX re-release is scheduled for next month. The classic, which was originally released in 2014, will be re-released on February 7 across India.
“The stars are aligning again! Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar returns to cinemas in India and also in IMAX on February 7. Relive the journey beyond time and space!,” Warner Bros. India said in a statement. Due to unprecedented demand for Pushpa 2’s IMAX release, Interstellar couldn’t be screened in the format in India last month.

On December 6, 2024, it was released in many countries. Paramount and IMAX, as per a box office report, made a killing from the re-release, thanks to the audience support for the sci-fi epic. In the US, it grossed $3.5 million domestically in the opening weekend. It grossed $3.75 million in other countries during that period.
In 10 days, Interstellar minted $10.8 million in the domestic market. It also became the highest-grossing IMAX re-release of all time by grossing $17.4 million upon its re-release. Capturing the movie’s craze, Collider stated, “On a global scale, the re-release has lifted the film’s lifetime worldwide IMAX total to $132.3 million, making it the 8th highest-grossing IMAX release ever.”
