The chief minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy, had previously stated his intention to bring back the long-lost “Nandi Awards” custom. He added that Telangana’s government would honor the late revolutionary singer Gaddar in particular by renaming the illustrious Nandi Awards in his honor, the “Gaddar Awards,” which honor Telugu performers, directors, technicians, writers, and musicians.
CM Revanth Reddy stated that he initiated the idea of restarting the Awards tradition, but received little response from the movie industry. Megastar Chiranjeevi took fast action in response to the situation, calling on those in the industry to assume accountability and act.
“Chief Minister of Telangana State Mr. Revanth Reddy took the initiative of reviving the film awards, to the talents of the film industry. He even expressed his idea of naming the awards as ‘Gaddar Awards’, in memory of our Gaddar anna. I request the Telugu Film Chamber and the Producer Council to take responsibility for taking this proposal forward with dignity”, Chiranjeevi wrote, on his X.
