Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal as a Maratha warrior, was released in theatres this Friday. The Telugu-dubbed version of the Bollywood blockbuster registered thumping openings at the Telugu box office.
Released by Geetha Arts Distributors, the epic historical action drama minted Rs 3.03 Cr on Day 1. “Chhaava Roars as the Audience Celebrates His Valor and Legacy. Hindava Swarajya Blockbuster Chhaava in Telugu grosses a massive 3.03 CR+ on opening day,” the makers said.
Starring Rashmika Mandanna as Sambhaji’s wife, the film also features Akshaye Khanna, Diana Penty, Ashutosh Rana, Vineet Kumar Singh and Neil Bhoopalam. “Saurabh Goswami’s cinematography is largely good, while AR Rahman‘s background music clicks. Chhaava makes for a good watch on the big screen. The ambitious historical action film has commendable performances by the primary cast. The grand production design adds to the film’s value,” we wrote in our review.
Ahead of the theatrical release, Vicky issued a statement, urging the Telugu audience to watch his movie in theatres. “I want to extend my deepest gratitude to each and everyone of you for your incredible love and support for our movie. We are proud to bring our esteemed film in Telugu. As we release our film, I hope Chhaava touches your hearts, and you watch the valour and sacrifice of one of the greatest Maratha warriors,” he said in the video.
