Captain starring Kollywood actor Arya in the lead role, is going to be released on September 8th in multiple languages worldwide. Aishwarya Lekshmi, Simran, Harish Utthaman, Kavya Shetty, and Gokulnath played important roles in the film. Shakti Soundar Rajan is the director of the film. Think Studios and The Snow People produced the film together. Sreshth Movies is releasing the film in Telugu. Arya, along with his film unit, is currently promoting the film in Hyderabad. As a part of the promotions for Captain, here are a few interesting things Arya shared in an interview.
Captain is the second collaboration between Arya and the director Shakti. Their first film together was Teddy. Arya agreed to do the film Captain with Shakti, knowing his skills and technical strengths, particularly in VFX. Both Arya and Shakti took almost a year for the pre-production before getting the project on to the sets for shooting. Arya also spoke about the rumours that the idea of The Predator and Captain are alike. He said that they made a completely different kind of creature for Captain, and the story too varies. Arya also said that the film unit had put in a lot of technical effort for the film to bring the output up to international standards. He especially spoke about the underground water episode since it is the main highlight of the entire film. Arya also proudly said that Captain is the first ever creature film in Indian cinema and he felt happy to take that risk for the betterment of the film industry.
Speaking about Sreshth Movies releasing the film in Telugu, Arya said that he and Nithiin are good friends, and so he wanted his friend to continue the blockbuster success of Kamal Haasan’s Vikram with his movie Captain. Arya also hinted that the film Captain might have a sequel depending on the success of the first part.
