Narappa is considered one of the biggest films in Tollywood. Narappa is the remake of the Tamil film, Asuran. The Telugu remake is directed by Srikanth Addala and produced by Suresh Babu and Kalaipul S. Thanu under Suresh Productions banner. On Sunday, the makers of the film confirmed Karthik Ratnam’s role and released the first look poster on the eve of his birthday.
The makers of the film, Suresh Productions, released a special poster of C/o Kancharapalem fame Karthik Ratnam and introduced him as Munikanna, son of Narappa. In the poster, Karthik Ratnam can be seen as a village boy clad in 1980s fashion denim and shirt, riding a bicycle with a village background. Sharing the poster on his birthday, the team wrote, “Introducing Narappa’s Elder son – #MUNIKANNA!! Wishing @KarthikRathnam3 a very Happy Birthday and successful year ahead!(sic.)”

The Telugu remake will see Venkatesh reprise the role Dhanush played in the original, Narappa an aging farmer. While Priyamani plays the role of his wife Sundaramma in the film.
Recently, in an interview with print media, Suresh Babu said he is not going to shoot for Narappa anytime soon as the film needs a lot of people on the sets and he can’t resume shooting for the film with the government guidelines in existence.

Narappa will see music by Mani Sharma, story by Vetrimaaran, with Satyanand as the script writer. Fights by Peter Heins and Vijay and lyrics by Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry.
