Rajinikanth is the third Indian and first South Indian to be felicitated with this Golden Ticket. The BCCI is promoting the World Cup 2023 and has been giving the Golden Ticket to celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan and Sachin Tendulkar.

The BCCI Honorary Secretary Jay Shah handed over the Golden Ticket to Rajinikanth today, providing him with benefits to attend the World Cup with VIP treatment. Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan and Sachin Tendulkar have been honored with the Golden Ticket for the passion and dedication of the individuals towards their respective fields.
