Six persons identified as belonging to the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OU-JAC) were today detained by the DCP, West Zone, Hyderabad, after they vandalized Allu Arjun’s Jubilee Hills residence on Sunday. “They climbed down the wall, manhandled the security staff and damaged some flower pots kept along the ramp,” the DCP has been quoted as saying.
Hours after the incident, senior producer Allu Aravind said that the attackers have been detained and that he would like to appeal for calm. He said that he wouldn’t like to elaborate on the incident, as everybody knows what had transpired.
The attack happened a day after Allu Arjun held a presser and defended himself. “A lot of misinformation and false allegations are swarming around. I am not speaking out against any leader or the government. We thank the government for the special ticket rate hikes. It feels extremely humiliating to be at the receiving end of baseless allegations. It is nothing but character assassination. Heresy and wrong information are going around. Before the whole country, my character has been assassinated. I am hurt,” the Icon Star said.
