‘Shiva’, directed by Ram Gopal Varma, was released in theatres on 5 October 1989. As ‘Shiva’ turned 35, actor Akkineni Nagarjuna took to social media on Sunday to recall what the legendary Akkineni Nageswara Rao told him a day after its theatrical release. ANR’s words were in the nature of a prophecy.
“It’s been 35 years and a day since the release of the iconic #shiva!! I cannot forget that day when I was in a car with my father ANR garu and he said, ‘I saw the movie last night and this morning I heard it’s a big hit, but I believe it will become one of the biggest hits of the Telugu film industry!!’ How incredibly true your words were, Nanna. Gratitude to all the love for shiva even after all these years! Thank you to all the people who made Shiva possible especially,” Nagarjuna wrote on X.
