The arrest came in the wake of a 35-year-old woman named Revathi getting killed in a stampede at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre. The theatre management had requested for a police bandobust two days prior to Allu Arjun‘s visit. In a letter to the police, the management clearly mentioned that Bunny, Rashmika Mandanna and others associated with ‘Pushpa 2’ would turn up at the theatre around 9:30 pm on December 4th.

Commenting on the case, journalist Revathi wrote, “The theater management submitted the letter in the court. They did tell the court that they informed the police in advance, took all permissions but the crowd wasn’t anticipated.”
The irreparable loss of Revathi is heart-breaking. Allu Arjun himself has provided financial support to the tune of Rs 25 lakh to the victim’s family. He will also be taking care of the needs of Revathi’s son in future. Revathi’s husband, Baskhar, has come forward to withdraw his complaint.
Actors regularly visit public places for different purposes. For big heroes, the cheers of crowds are emotionally valuable. The fans are energized by their presence. The Sandhya Theatre stampede tragedy was unexpected and an extremely rare instance. And it happened despite the presence of police at the venue.
Allu Arjun can’t be held directly responsible for what happened. A view is gaining ground that slapping criminal cases on him, despite his not being involved in the incident, is not right.
The moral support Allu Arjun has been getting and will get matters to him personally. The Telugu film industry is slowly getting up to stand in support of their colleague.
