Actor Suriya’s recent donation of Rs 10 crore from the profits of his film Retro to the Agaram Foundation has been appreciated by one and all. The Agaram Foundation, founded by Suriya himself, focuses on providing quality education and holistic development opportunities to students from marginalized communities in Tamil Nadu.
Agaram actively identifies deserving students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and enrolls them in schools, ensuring access to education. It provides them financial support, academic backing, mentorship, guidance, skill development, career counseling, and higher education support.

Recently, at the pre-release event of Retro in Hyderabad, actor Vijay Deverakonda lauded Suriya’s efforts on the social service front.
Retro, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, was released in theatres on May 1st. Co-starring Pooja Hegde in the role of a woman living almost on exile, the action drama also features Joju George and Jayaram.
Last year, Suriya acted in the period fantasy action drama Kanguva, which was directed by Siva.
