The Telangana Gaddar Film Awards have been announced in the Best Feature Film (first best, second best, third best) category from 2014 to 2024. The jury, in a move that signals its intent to recognize the craftsmanship in commercial entertainers, has chosen a wide range of crowd favourites.
Among the biggest commercial movies recognized are Rangasthalam and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. The former, starring Global Star Ram Charan and directed by Sukumar, totally deserved the Second Best Feature Film Award for the year 2018. As for Icon Star Allu Arjun’s movie, it was adjudged the First Best for the year 2020. The pandemic year didn’t see any fresh releases from April till December. Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Bhagavanth Kesari, another commercial film, was the Third Best in 2023.
Three relatively small films that were acquired enormity after their release were feted: Vijay Deverakonda’s Pelli Choopulu (Second Best in 2016), Varun Tej-Sai Pallavi’s Fidaa (Second Best in 2017), Vaisshnav Tej-Krithi Shetty’s Uppena (Third Best in 2021) totally deserve it. Nikhil Siddhartha’s Karthikeya 2, directed by Chandoo Mondeti, was the Second Best in 2022. The mystery adventure film had substantial content.
Run Raja Run (First Best in 2014), Lucky Baskhar (Third Best in 2024) and Alludu Seenu (Third Best in 2014) were made to offer pure entertainment.
