118, a movie which is creating a sensation all over social media and at the box office, owing to its success, is now in the spotlight again. It turns out, the lead cast of the movie, Kalyan Ram, Shalini Pandey and Nivetha Thomas, did more than their bit to make this project a phenomenal success. There are certain scenes wherein extra efforts and courage were needed and Kalyan Ram mustered all his courage for the underwater scene in 118.
Kalyan Ram, the male lead of 118, is seen in an underwater scene in this movie. This is the very scene in which, in his dream, he finds an abandoned car on the bed of the lake. However, Kalyan Ram’s shoot underwater was no dream. It was stark reality, wherein the actor learned scuba diving in a swimming pool. First, Kalyan used the scuba gear to sustain the underwater pressure and then, got rid of the gear and finally, shot the scene. The scene took more than a couple of minutes, during which, the actor was supposed to go around the car. Though Kalyan Ram initially struggled to breathe, he finally made it.
Post the VFX, though the scene was shot in a swimming pool, it looked as if Kalyan was underwater, in a lake. It then struck me with sudden harshness, what all life risking stunts and feats do our actors carry out for their projects?
Life is sure tough for them too and it just got reinforced with this video, it is a lot more difficult for them than the common man.
