SVSC re-release joins 2 CR club, cements Mahesh Babu’s re-release domination

Superstar Mahesh Babu’s reign over the Telugu box office in re-release format continues unabated. Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, which has reportedly grossed over Rs 2 crore on Friday (Day 1), joins the ranks of his other blockbuster re-releases. The family drama co-stars Victory Venkatesh, Anjali and Samantha.

This is his 5th re-release to make a mark. Pokiri and Businessman, both of them action movies, minted similarly big numbers. The emotional drama Murari and the mass appeal of Okkadu also proved to be goldmines.

The nostalgia factor, Mahesh’s popularity, quality content, and the strong urge in the audience to watch his movies on the big screen have worked in favour of the above five re-releases.

Mahesh Babu is currently working with director SS Rajamouli and the same is going to be his 29th movie. In his social media post recently, the director of the Baahubali duology was seen standing in front of a billboard featuring the image of a moving lion. The post and Mahesh’s comment (“Okkasaari commit ayithe naa maata nene vinanu”) went viral at that time. The untitled movie has been shot in Odisha lately.
