Versatile actress Vidya Balan was seen as Basavatarakam, NT Rama Rao’s wife, in NTR Kathanayakudu and NTR Mahanayakudu. More than five years hence, the talented actress hasn’t done a Telugu movie.
When Vidya was in Hyderabad on Friday to promote her Diwali release Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (Hindi), she was asked about when she would be doing a Telugu movie again. The actress answered that she is very much keen to do so, provided something exciting comes up. “I am keen to act in more Telugu movies if I get the right script,” Vidya said.
She is kicked about Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which is scheduled to be a November 1st release. “Cinema is a visual media. The story-telling has to be timeless. This movie is best watched with large groups of people. I have been most excited about this movie also because it is releasing for Diwali, a huge time across the country,” she added.
Vidya Balan shot to fame with Pradeep Sarkar’s Parineeta (2005,) in the titular role of Lalitha, an immortal creation by noted Bengali novelist, Sarath Chandra Chattopadhyay. She won the National Film Award for the Best Actress in The Dirty Picture, where she portrayed the role of South glamour queen, the late Silk Smitha.
