We are now standing proud in the land of Independent India, which was gained by the courageous freedom fighters. There have been many freedom fighters that we know of. However, there are a few who have silently fought, and a big salute goes to them. One of the earliest female freedom fighters in India was the fearless revolutionary Queen of Awadh, Begum Hazrat Mahal.
On the occasion of this 77th Independence Day, the anchor and actress Anasuya Bharadwaj has paid tribute to the fearless lady, Begum Hazrat Mahal. She recreated the queen’s look and reminded us to celebrate the unsung heroes behind our freedom. She shared the stamp featuring Begum Hazrat Mahal and a picture of her recreating the look on her Twitter handle. This shows her way of conveying admiration and respect for the early female freedom fighter, Begum Hazrat Mahal.
