It was on this day (May 23) thirty-nine years ago that Vikram was released in theatres. This one marked Nagarjuna’s acting debut as a lead man. The romantic action film directed by V Madhusudhana Rao and produced by Akkineni Venkat on Annapurna Studios, had music by Chakravarthy.
Nagarjuna, taking to social media, fondly recalled the special day. “Woke up this morning to a message on my phone, to this picture & this #39YearsForKingNagInTFI (sic),” the Shiva and Geethanjali actor wrote. He added that 39 years have flown by in a blink of an eye. “Couldn’t have done it without you all and your love. Thank you for the memories, and the magic. Feeling blessed beyond words,” he wrote.
Vikram featured Shobana, Satyanarayana and others.
Nagarjuna’s next immediate release is Kuberaa, fronted by Dhanush. The Manmadhudu actor has a prominent part in the emotional drama, whose glimpse video will be released on May 25. Nag is also playing a stellar role in Rajinikanth’s Coolie, which is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. This film will be released in theatres on August 14.
