Ugram Movie Review:
The plot line of this movie has emotions, family drama, a love story, action, and thrill. Naresh’s performance as a police officer is intense and serious, which is impressive. The action sequences were a highlight of the film. The first half of Ugram has a love story between the lead pair, and most of the second part of the film is filled with twists and turns. The interval bang fight and climax sequence were especially well executed. Ugram might feel like a routine investigative story, but it has layers in performances, story line, and characterization.
Naresh is truly seen in Urgam form (Furious) in this film, with him trying a totally new character even from Naandhi. His performance in emotional scenes and action sequences was exceptional. The movie Ugram is set in a time frame of nearly 7 to 8 years, and Naresh can be seen in a makeover for the cop role according to the time. Witnessing him in such roles feels fresh. The efforts he put in to transform himself into a raging cop from all the comic roles he has done so far are clearly visible on screen.
Mirnaa Menon has a good role in the film as the wife of police officer Shiva Kumar. She is a housewife in the film, with emotion and drama in her role. All the other supporting artists have performed well, supporting the plot of the film.
Director Vijay Kanakamedala once again proved he is an action and intense filmmaker by showing another social issue existing in today’s society through Ugram. His direction is without doubt the best technicality for the film, and his efforts to make the action come out are impressive. Along with the furious action, he took care that the story and characters he created on screen were close to reality.
Production values by Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi are impressive.
DOP Siddharth J has very well executed the idea of the director. Most of the film is shot at night. He had very well shot the film in low light and took care so that the film did not become clumsy in the dark. Editor Chota K Prasad has also done a good job.
Sri Charan Pakala excelled in both the romantic songs for the film and the intense and thrilling music in the background, which clearly created suspense throughout the whole time.
Overall, Ugram is a combination of emotions and action with a hint of a love story. It is a must watch for everyone who loves intense action and cop drama. This is a thrilling ride with a lot of suspense involved.
