Shaakuntalam was released today worldwide in both 2D and 3D. The film is the latest collaboration of Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Malayalam actor Dev Mohan. This was directed by Gunasekhar and produced by his daughter, Neelima Guna. The film was an attempt to portray the emotions behind the title character and pass on this magical epic to the younger generations. The film has some of the best actors and technicians working in it. This film also casts the daughter of Allu Arjun, Allu Arha, in the role of Bharata, son of Shakuntala and King Dushyanta. She is one of the main characters in the film.

He mentioned Gunasekhar, Neelima Guna, and Sri Venkateswara Creations for making and bringing this epic film to audiences. He even wished the best for the lead pair, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Dev Mohan, and the entire supporting cast. He added by thanking Gunasekhar for introducing Allu Arha to the big screen with a cameo in Shaakunatalam.

The screenplay and direction of the film Shaakuntalam are handled by Gunasekhar. This film was produced by Neelima Guna under the banner of Gunaa Teamworks. Mani Sharma composed the music for this film. Also, it is presented by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations. Allu Arha is playing the role of Bharata in this film. Sekhar V Joseph is the cinematographer for Shaakuntalam, while Prawin Pudi is the editor.
