Shaakuntalam Synopsis:
Shaakuntalam is the upcoming lady oriented film featuring Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the title role. The film is directed by Gunasekhar, and the story is taken from the Indian play Abhijnanashakuntalam by Kalidasa. Dev Mohan is starring opposite Samantha in this film. Shaakuntalam is a pan Indian film made in multiple languages. This film is going to be released on April 14th, both in 2D and 3D. The filmmakers had planned an early release, but it got delayed due to 3D production work. The director Gunasekhar is well known for his film Rudhramadevi, in which he showcased Anushka Shetty in the most powerful way. Similarly, Samantha in this film is beautiful and strong and fights for her love and self respect.
The filmmakers recently released a 3D trailer a few days ago at Prasad’s IMAX. Today, they released the official trailer on YouTube.

The release trailer for Shaakuntalam looks magnificent and also extraordinary. VFX can be said to be a highlight for the whole film. Samantha and Dev Mohan’s screen presence and their chemistry are very well portrayed on the screens. All the actors playing major roles in Shaakuntalam have done a wonderful job, even with the ancient language and accent. Samantha, in her mesmerising beauty, handled both her simple and queenly looks. This mythological magnum opus promises every audience the best performances and storytelling on big screens.

Gunasekhar is the director of Shaakuntalam after his historical drama film, Rudramadevi. Neelima Guna is the producer of the film under the banner of Gunaa Teamworks. Dil Raju is presenting the film under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. Alongside the main characters, actors including Prakash Raj, Mohan Babu, Gautami, Allu Arha, and others are playing important roles in the film. The music is composed by Mani Sharma. Sekhar V Joseph is the cinematographer, while Prawin Pudi is the editor.
