“Shaakuntalam“, the name itself takes us back into the pages of Indian history. The history of Shaakuntalam tells us the story of a woman and her love. We all know about the great Indian play titled Abhijnanashakuntalam, written by Indian poet Kalidasa. Gunasekhar, one of the best technical directors in Tollywood, made this mega-play into a magnum opus. Samantha played the lead role in the film as Shakuntala. The film was previously scheduled to be released on February 17 for Maha Shivaratri. But the makers later postponed the release to a new date due to unfinished work.
Shaakuntalam is now going to be released on a new date. The makers made this announcement today, marking a new release date for Shaakuntalam in the summer. The release date is set for April 14. Shaakuntalam is going to entertain the audience in multiple languages this summer.

Shaakuntalam is directed by Gunasekhar. Neelima Guna produced the film under the banner of Gunaa Teamworks. Dil Raju is presenting the film under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. Shaakuntalam stars Dev Mohan as Dushyanta, Shakuntala’s husband in the film. Prakash Raj, Mohan Babu, Gautami, Sachin Khedekar and Allu Arha played other pivotal roles in the film. Sai Madhav Burra penned the dialogues. Mani Sharma composed the music. The makers have so far released three songs, Mallika Mallika, Yelelo Yelelo, and Rushivanamlona, all of which are impressive.
