Ponniyin Selvan, the dream project of the Guru of Indian cinema, Mani Ratnam, is the most awaited film not only in Kollywood but across India. There is a lot of hype for the film right from its production in 2019. The film is based on a novel with the same title, penned by Ramaswamy Krishnamurthy, aka Kalki. The story of Ponniyin Selvan deals with the rule of the Chola dynasty in India, as known from the novel. The film was mounted on a large scale, touching a mark of about 500 crores. The film’s cast is also very large, including Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Sobitha Dhulipala, and others. The film’s release date was announced to be September 30, and so the film unit started promoting the film 2 months prior to the release, that is, in July. As a part of the promotions, the makers of Ponniyin Selvan started releasing the character looks of the main cast in the film.
The first look poster of Chiyaan Vikram from Ponniyin Selvan has been released. Vikram played the role of Aditya Karikalan. Vikram was seen sitting on a horse with a majestic look and a proud smile on his face. The creators described Aditya Karikalan as a fierce warrior and a wild tiger. The makers also started revealing the character looks of the film with the tagline, “The Cholas are coming.”

The makers also released the character look of Vanthiyathevan, played by the young actor Karthi. The actor was also seen riding a horse in the poster, just like that of Vikram’s. Karthi’s face was seen with a heartfelt smile. Sharing the poster, the makers wrote, “The Prince without a kingdom.”

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s look from the film, playing the character of Nandini, was released today. Aishwarya Rai is seen as the most beautiful and gorgeous queen in the poster. But the makers revealed that there was vengeance behind that elegance. Aishwarya is mentioned by the makers as “The Queen of Pazhuvoor”.

All the three looks of the actors, Vikram, Karthi, and Aishwarya Rai, are very impressive. It is very evident just from the first looks and the character posters that the legendary director, Mani Ratnam, took a lot of care in establishing the characters and detailing their looks. The film is produced by Subaskaran and Maniratnam himself under the banners of Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies. AR Rahman composed the music for the film.
