Pongal is truly a festival for the filmmakers to get their films into the release race. RRR and Radhe Shyam are the two major Pan India films competing for a superhit this Pongal. All other big films stepped back to create a healthy environment in the industry. Credit to Mahesh Babu and Pawan Kalyan for holding back their films Sarkaru Vaari Paata and Bheemla Nayak respectively. Now the postponement of RRR due to insufficient number of theatres running created much buzz around the pongal race. This laid a path for many small and medium budgeted films to get some theatres and release their films for the festival.
Mega filmmaker MS Raju announced his new age rom com titled 7 Days 6 Nights to be released for this pongal. The film was produced by Sumanth Ashwin and Rajnikant S under the banner of Wild Honey Productions and Wintage Pictures. Samarth Gollapudi composed the music. Nani Chamidisetty is the cinematographer and Junaid Siddiqui is the editor.
MS Raju is well known for his Sankranti Successes. He gave many blockbusters for past editions of Pongal including Manasantha Nuvve, Varsham, Okkadu and Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana. His last film Dirty Hari was a decent hit. This time, he is back with 7 Days and 6 Nights for Pongal 2022 and is super confident of his film despite the tough competition.
