Dharmavarapu Subramanyam is a well-versed Telugu actor who has played various roles for almost 2 decades. He made his acting debut in the year 1989 in the film Jayammu Nischayammu Raa directed by Jandhyala. Dharmavarapu has graced his presence in many films with his natural looks and brilliant acting skills. He has not only received praises but also Nandi Awards for the best male comedian for his roles in Alasyam Amrutham (2010) and Yagnam (2004).

He was first noticed among the new generation viewers with his appearances in the movies like Style (2006,) Ready (2008,) Dookudu (2011) and many more. After he got into films, he fulfilled his due diligence by becoming the chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Cultural Association. He played a variety of roles alongside star heroes and was well known for his comedy roles and flawless dialogue delivery including several iconic punch dialogues.
Not many of us know that he worked as a director in addition to acting in the show Anando Brahma, which was telecasted by Doordarshan in the 1980s that brought him great fame. He also directed the movie Thokaleni Pitta (1997,) starring veteran actor Naresh in the lead role produced by Kona Venkat. He not only acted and directed, but hosted several shows as well on various TV channels and was last seen on Ding Dong (2011,) a political satire telecasted by Sakshi TV.
