Life is never going to be the same with the arrival of the Coronavirus pandemic. The sudden onset of the second wave of the Coronavirus led to the delays of major projects. At the same time, the pandemic drastically affected the economy of film workers and distributors with the closure of theatres for more than a year. In the latest, Telangana State Film Chamber Of Commerce held a general body meeting today and issued a request to the producers and the governments of the Telugu states regarding movie releases.
Keeping in view of the current situation, theatres across the two states have not reopened. The producers of prime projects are opting to release their movies on various OTT platforms. Discussing the same, the members of Telangana State Film Chamber Of Commerce and the exhibitors took a decision and requested the producers to reconsider OTT releases until October 2021. If the theatres continue to remain closed, then the producers are allowed to opt for OTT releases.

Assessing the well being and economic viability of all members in the cine industry, the association of Telugu cinema appelead for this. Furthermore, a request to reconsider the ticket pricing in the Andhra Pradesh government was placed. Since the theatres are closed for more than a year affecting the economy of exhibitors. Members of the association requested reconsideration of the ticket pricing and offer affordable rates.
