As soon as 2020 began, audiences were treated to two huge blockbuster movies namely Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Sarileru Neekevvaru which starred Allu Arjun and Mahesh Babu as the leads respectively.  These movies were released during the festive season of Sankranthi and were followed by the laughter riot Bheeshma and the mystery thriller HIT.  Following the nationwide lockdown which saw movie theaters shutting down, many movies released on the OTT platforms which led to the audience being engaged with a lot of new content.
