Tollywood, post Pelli Choopulu in 2017, opened its doors for independent filmmakers who want to explore themes of daily life with a pinch of humor. One such actor, who excels in this genre in the current crop of actors, is undoubtedly Sree Vishnu. The actor has been reinventing himself in his roles, mixing his career with both melodramatic and comic genres of movies.
The star regaled the audience with terrific comic timing in Brochevarevarura as Rahul, who keeps on failing in exams and along with his co students, kidnaps his classmate on her own wish and gets into a brawl.
Sree Vishnu has come a long way, from an engineering student to a star to be reckoned with, on his own. Even in his serious movies like Vunnadhi Okate Zindagi, we saw his wit and subtle comic timing many a time. The aspect of Sree Vishnu’s performance which made him endearing to the audience is the style of his dialogue rendering. The way he stresses on words and uses his knowledge of comic facial expressions is a treat to watch.
Right from his hit and miss role in Sekhar Kammula’s Life Is Beautiful, to his Railway Raju character in Appatlo Okadundevadu, Sree Vishnu reinvented his roles with an astonishing level of maturity and perseverance.
The movie which catapulted him to stardom was undoubtedly Mental Madilo, in which he played the role of a person with borderline personality disorder, who tries to grapple with his life with his disturbed mental state. The Vivek Athreya directorial became a big hit, catapulting Sree Vishnu into the league of the ‘young turks’ who will rule Tollywood in the future.
Then Sree Vishnu followed it up with a crime thriller, Veera Bhoga Vasantha Rayalu, which was an interesting genre. He played a man who has a grudge on every person in his life who made his childhood a sorrowful ordeal.
Now, Sree Vishnu again proved his mettle by playing a prime role in the caper comedy genre, with Brochevarevarura.
He, as the leading man of Brochevarevarura, proved his comic timing as the main protagonist, who had the maximum screen space. Along with Nivetha Thomas, Priyadarshi and Rahul Ramakrishna, he made the fantastic script of Vivek Athreya a hit.
Here too, his rendering style of dialogues made the movie a hit with the audience.
With his Thipparaa Meesam, a mass entertainer coming in late 2019, we cannot wait to see Sree Vishnu in a new avatar again!
