Anchor Ravi, who hosts the popular TV show Pataas, was, a week ago, accused by viewers, of hurting the sentiments of the people of Andhra Pradesh (AP.) The incident involved a TV show hosted by Ravi, in which one of the contestants(Mahidhar) made fun of the people of Andhra Pradesh. Ravi too applauded the comedy skit done by the contestant and applauded the act.
This enraged many netizens of AP, who started trolling Ravi and also some of the youth belonging to Andhra, who follow his show. The netizens also criticised Ravi’s personal manager with abuses for supporting Ravi when he criticized the people of AP.
Ravi took to his Twitter and Instagram accounts to tender an apology to his supporters and remarked, he respected Andhra people a lot and was a fan of AP Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. Ravi also added he was only doing his job as the anchor of the show and he did not feel he is a Telangana man or Andhra, but he is a Telugu man, eventually. He pleaded to the viewers to end the controversy from henceforth and to put an end to any misunderstanding of sorts.
